While some students spend all their time on coffee and exams, others take it upon themselves to save UNESCO heritage. A new project aimed at preserving the unique cultural identity of the city has been launched in Izmir. A key feature of the initiative is that it is driven by youth. Students from six local universities have united into a single working group.

During a specially organized panel dedicated to the "Izmir and UNESCO Cultural Heritage" triangle, participants discussed practical steps for preserving historical monuments. Experts note that involving the younger generation provides a fresh perspective on urban and historical challenges.

Organizers emphasize that the initiative goes beyond theoretical discussions. Plans include field research, the creation of digital archives, and the organization of educational campaigns for locals and tourists.

This approach helps not only to preserve the past but also to harmoniously integrate historical values into Izmir's modern developing urban environment, enhancing its international appeal.
